Announcing the release of "How to Shoot RAW without Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt".

Melbourne, Florida: From the minds that brought us the sensational series of WhiBal® Certified Gray Cards now comes an instructive new Video Tutorial from RawWorkFlow.com that makes shooting RAW so easy and natural that users will wonder why they ever used any other camera mode. Produced and narrated by company founder Michael Tapes, RAW without Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt shows digital photographers why RAW is the easier way to shoot, and how to get the best visual results from their photography.

It is available as a download or a DVD-ROM and although the content is “raw converter agnostic in nature, instructs using leading RAW conversion software, Adobe Photoshop® Lightroom® 1.1 and Adobe Camera Raw® 4.1 (CS3), and serves as a valuable tutorial for those applications as well.

Put simply, Michael Tapes cuts through the FUD surrounding RAW shooting and post production. “RAW without FUD is for those suffering from the symptoms of ‘JPEG Withdrawal’,” The Raw Guru considers. “With RAW we are assured that all the information a camera is capable of gathering is at our disposal for development, and any exposure or White Balance errors are simple to correct. Once people understand how to handle RAW images, they will realize that the technique is actually faster and easier than shooting JPEG, with much higher quality results.”

The 6-hour DVD and Download Versions are Mac- and Windows®-compatible and plays on any PC with Adobe Flash Player installed in the user’s web browser.

The RAW without Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt Video Tutorials are now available and are priced at $29.95 (Download Version) and $44.95 (DVD with Extras Disc). The  Extras Disc (DVD Version only) includes an additional two hours of bonus Adobe Lightroom™ Video Tutorials. The DVD purchase also includes RawWorkFlow.com’s “instant gratification” download – the same identical content, but at a slightly reduced video quality.

“The key thing about shooting in RAW mode is to start doing it now!” Tapes emphasizes. “It is unimportant whether a photographer has their raw workflow down solid or not at all. My goal in creating Raw without FUD was to demonstrate that RAW mode is not as mysterious or as difficult as people seem to think it is. There are easy transition paths such that one can begin to shoot raw right now; I stress the “now,” because once a photograph is taken that moment in time has past and it can never be captured again in exactly the same way.”

All WhiBal G6 models shipping from stock. Thanks for your overwhelming support!

Melbourne, Florida: With more than 25,000 units sold worldwide, WhiBal has become the de facto, simple-to-use standard for setting white balance in all RAW converters, as well as image editors such as Adobe Photoshop®. Conceived by Michael Tapes, WhiBal is an innovation from RawWorkflow.com, a division of PictureFlow LLC.New for the Generation 6 WhiBal Reference Card:

LESS TO CARRY – the previous three-card layout is replaced by G6’s lighter & easier to handle single-card format.

QUICK TO USE – single-card construction eliminates a need to fan out the cards, thereby speeding reference capture.

CERTIFIED PERFORMANCE – the single WhiBal card is light Gray, certified to recommended Luminance level of L* = ~75, which is optimum for use in all RAW converters.

APPLICABLE TO JPEG SHOOTERS - optimized G6 card can be used to set White balance - and optimize exposure – using the newly included WhiBal White Balance plug-in. (The free Plug-in created by Power Retouche is also compatible with previous WhiBal designs.)

OPTIMIZED BLACK PATCH - the TrueBlack black patch has been further optimized for a guaranteed Luminance spec of L* < 4.

INTEGRAL WHITE CARD - the separate white card for setting white point and an exposure aid is now replaced by a sticker using similar technology as TrueBlack.

INTEGRAL FOCUS/SHARPNESS TARGETS – along with inch/centimeter references targets are useful for macro, product and scientific photography.

The WhiBal hi-gloss sticker also provides a visual indication within the viewfinder of the angle of maximum glare. “By moving the camera or card from the detected maximum glare point,” Tapes offers, “accuracy of the White Balance reference is properly maintained. Matte reference cards cannot be used to detect the maximum glare angle and are more subject to diffusing the readings.”

Also available: a new 8.5- by 11-inch reference version.
